With Thrive since 2021
Jessica Sidhu is a Project Manager with an established Construction Manager and General Contractor in Victoria primarily working in the ICI sector. In her role as Project Manager, Jessica is responsible for the efficient and timely delivery of projects, solving problems that may arise during planning and implementation and effective communication and coordination with all stakeholders. Starting her career in construction at the age of 17, Jessica has experience on the tools as a former carpentry apprentice, having worked on residential and light commercial projects in the North Island region. With her background on the tools, Jessica understands building processes, which means that she has an advantage when it comes to problem solving. Jessica has served on Vancouver Island Construction Association’s Women in Construction and Young Builders Network executive committees and has held leadership positions on both committees. Jessica was elected to the Phoenix Board of Directors on October 12, 2021 and currently serves as the Secretary. She was interested in joining Phoenix because of the diverse programs that serve the Greater Victoria community.
Our Thrive team acknowledges that our agency stands and works on the unceded Lək̓ʷəŋən territory of the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations. We also acknowledge the five W̱SÁNEĆ communities: W̱JOȽEȽP (Tsartlip), BOḰEĆEN (Pauquachin), SȾÁUTW̱,(Tsawout) W̱SIKEM (Tseycum) and MÁLEXEȽ (Malahat), as well as the Sc'ianew (Beecher Bay), T’Sou-ke, and Pacheedaht Nations and the Spune’laxutth’ (Penelekut) tribe where our work extends. We are committed to acknowledging our relationship with these unceded lands and communities, at staff and Board meetings, and during our hosted events. We encourage the evolving learning and awareness of our staff, Board, and the Thrive community, discovering and striving for meaning and personal connection within each acknowledgement.
