With Thrive since 2022
Janine Durette has over 30 years experience in finance leadership roles and as a general manager in the service industry, and holds a professional accountant designation (CPA, CMA), as well as an MBA from the University of Athabasca. Currently, she is the Chief Financial Officer for Oak Bay Marine Group, BC’s largest marina operator and recent recipient of Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures award.
Originally from Northern Ontario, Janine’s career took her to Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, and the San Francisco Bay Area before moving to Victoria in early 2022. Throughout these moves, she joined several not-for-profit boards and volunteer organizations, and cherished these opportunities to learn more about her community and contribute her financial and strategic management skills to causes that matter. As an advocate for better understanding of mental health in the workplace, Janine found that Thrive’s purpose of empowerment and life-skills development was a perfect fit and was thrilled to join its Board.
Janine lives in Sidney with her retired husband and miniature poodle, and has three adult children still living in Montreal.
