Hazel is the Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) Transformation Lead for Interior Health. She was the Project Manager for the Early Psychosis Enhancement Project and has been the CEO of a successful Victoria, BC, community agency. Her background in Mental Health and Substance Use includes crisis response, supported employment/education, ACT teams, navigation and support for People with Lived and Living experiences. She champions peer support development and psychosocial rehabilitation within a recovery-oriented approach. As a skilled leader, Hazel is a natural collaborator and continues to build a solid professional network which fuels her optimism and an overall strengths-based approach. Over her career of progressive leadership positions, Hazel has demonstrated commitment to recovery-oriented practice, which includes cultural awareness and respect for Indigenous Peoples. Her graduate-level academic preparation includes conflict resolution studies, psychology, business and leadership. She has a strong systems lens and is a committed lifelong learner who thrives on challenges. She continues work on a national board. In Her film, community events, varied cultural activities with the Okanagan family, and t in her free time, ravels in BC and beyond.
