With Thrive since 2022
Clemens now lives in Victoria after a long and winding journey. Originally immigrating to Canada from Germany when he was 6, Clemens' family landed in the asbestos mining town of Cassiar, BC. Since then he has lived in Burnaby, Vancouver, Haida Gwaii (15 years), the Cowichan Valley, and now Victoria. Clemens began his professional life as a classical musician, went on to education, and has been an organizational consultant for the last 15 years. Clemens' educational journey includes an undergraduate degree in music from UBC, and an MBA from Royal Roads University, as well as a professional certificate in education from Simon Fraser University. He is also a certified change management professional.
Clemens is seeking deeper connections with the community in Victoria. He is excited to learn how he can contribute to the great work Thrive does. With his background, he is particularly interested to learn of the opportunities to serve in the areas of organizational development, youth, indigenous communities, and education.
Our Thrive team acknowledges that our agency stands and works on the unceded Lək̓ʷəŋən territory of the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations. We also acknowledge the five W̱SÁNEĆ communities: W̱JOȽEȽP (Tsartlip), BOḰEĆEN (Pauquachin), SȾÁUTW̱,(Tsawout) W̱SIKEM (Tseycum) and MÁLEXEȽ (Malahat), as well as the Sc'ianew (Beecher Bay), T’Sou-ke, and Pacheedaht Nations and the Spune’laxutth’ (Penelekut) tribe where our work extends. We are committed to acknowledging our relationship with these unceded lands and communities, at staff and Board meetings, and during our hosted events. We encourage the evolving learning and awareness of our staff, Board, and the Thrive community, discovering and striving for meaning and personal connection within each acknowledgement.
