Foundry Invitation

Posted: May 14, 2024

You're invited to join THRIVE Social Services on Wednesday, Junes, 2024 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Veteran's Memorial Park in Langford to celebrate a big win for the health and well- being of youth and families/caregivers - a Foundry centre will be developed for Sooke and the West Shore.

The Foundry centre will provide young people aged 12-24 and their families/caregivers access to free and confidential mental health and substance use supports, physical & sexual healthcare, social services and peer support in one convenient location. The Foundry centre will be a real game-changer for the growing West Shore and Sooke region.

Our journey to developing the Foundry centre will be a deeply collaborative one, involving youth, families, caregivers, service providers, and you! We would love to have you join us for this Foundry Launch Party, which will provide pizza and an opportunity for community members to learn more about the Foundry  model and how the  project will roll-out over the years ahead to  help our dream become a bold reality.

Our Thrive team acknowledges that our agency stands and works on the unceded Lək̓ʷəŋən territory of the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations. We also acknowledge the five W̱SÁNEĆ communities: W̱JOȽEȽP (Tsartlip), BOḰEĆEN (Pauquachin), SȾÁUTW̱,(Tsawout) W̱SIKEM (Tseycum) and MÁLEXEȽ (Malahat), as well as the Sc'ianew (Beecher Bay), T’Sou-ke, and Pacheedaht Nations and the Spune’laxutth’ (Penelekut) tribe where our work extends. We are committed to acknowledging our relationship with these unceded lands and communities, at staff and Board meetings, and during our hosted events. We encourage the evolving learning and awareness of our staff, Board, and the Thrive community, discovering and striving for meaning and personal connection within each acknowledgement.
