Job Summary: 

Reporting to the Director of Programs, the program manager is a Mental Health Professional responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the program and supervision of the Mental Health Outreach Team (MHOT). MHOT provides supportive mental health services to children and/or youth, and their families and/or caregivers in an outreach capacity. Services provided include mental health assessment, individual counselling, family work/mediation, crisis intervention, social skills training, psycho- educational training, advocacy and elements of case management.

Leadership of this team requires demonstrated expertise across a wide array of Child and Youth Mental Health disorders, person-centered and trauma-informed practice, and current best practices in community-based Mental Health services.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field
  • Experience managing in a union environment
  • Minimum of 5 years management experience, preferably in a mental health setting
  • Experience working in the field of Child and Youth Mental Health
  • Understanding of the DSM-V
  • Experience providing supervision to child and youth counsellors
  • Working knowledge of community-based programs, related provincial and community services, applicable legislation and policies

Education, Training, and Experience: 
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field

Additional Information: 
  • This position requires the ability to function independently, meeting the needs of
    multiple concurrent projects and deadlines.
  • This position requires the ability to effectively manage emergency situations.
  • Moderate level of physical fitness to effectively carry out duties of the position.
