Youth Services

Youth Services support youth 12-19 and their parents/caregivers who have an open file with MCFD through its protection or youth guardianship programs.

One of our counsellors will contact you to set up a meeting in the community, your home, or at the Ministry office with your social worker. We will take you through a program orientation, outlining what to expect from the service and how service objectives will be met. You will be provided with a client handbook that outlines your rights and the rights of the Family Development Counsellor (FDC) to ensure the experience will be safe and mutually respectful.

How do you get into this program?

Referrals are sent directly by the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) Social Worker to our Youth Services Manager. The youth/parent/caregiver will be provided with a Family Development Counsellor (FDC) or placed on the program’s waitlist until an FDC becomes available to provide services. Please contact our Youth Services Program Manager at 250-383-4821 for more information.
