The Children and Youth with Support Needs program (CYSN) provides goal-oriented programming (individual and group) to children and youth under 19 who have been diagnosed with support needs, and their families. Participants engage in many activities that promote learning, having fun, and developing rewarding relationships such as games, crafts, outdoor fun, baking, sensory play, and more. You may visit libraries, beaches, parks, the IMAX, arcades, board game cafes, and Mr. Tubbs Ice Cream Parlor!
Areas of support include:
Your child or youth requires a referral from their Child and Youth with Support Needs Social Worker (CYSN). Once your child or youth has received a diagnosis you can contact the Ministry of Child and Family Development and request an intake with a CYSN Social Worker (778) 698-1224. The CYSN Social Worker will provide a referral to the program if they determine that this program would be a good fit for the child, youth and/or family.

Our Thrive team acknowledges that our agency stands and works on the unceded Lək̓ʷəŋən territory of the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations. We also acknowledge the five W̱SÁNEĆ communities: W̱JOȽEȽP (Tsartlip), BOḰEĆEN (Pauquachin), SȾÁUTW̱,(Tsawout) W̱SIKEM (Tseycum) and MÁLEXEȽ (Malahat), as well as the Sc'ianew (Beecher Bay), T’Sou-ke, and Pacheedaht Nations and the Spune’laxutth’ (Penelekut) tribe where our work extends. We are committed to acknowledging our relationship with these unceded lands and communities, at staff and Board meetings, and during our hosted events. We encourage the evolving learning and awareness of our staff, Board, and the Thrive community, discovering and striving for meaning and personal connection within each acknowledgement.
