One of our counsellors will contact you to set up a meeting in the community, your home, or at the Ministry office with your social worker. We will take you through a program orientation, outlining what to expect from the service and how service objectives will be met. You will be provided with a client handbook that outlines your rights and the rights of the Family Development Counsellor (FDC) to ensure the experience will be safe and mutually respectful.
Referrals are sent directly by the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) Social Worker to our Youth Services Manager. The youth/parent/caregiver will be provided with a Family Development Counsellor (FDC) or placed on the program’s waitlist until an FDC becomes available to provide services.
Please contact our Youth Services Program Manager at 250-383-4821 for more information.
Our Thrive team acknowledges that our agency stands and works on the unceded Lək̓ʷəŋən territory of the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations. We also acknowledge the five W̱SÁNEĆ communities: W̱JOȽEȽP (Tsartlip), BOḰEĆEN (Pauquachin), SȾÁUTW̱,(Tsawout) W̱SIKEM (Tseycum) and MÁLEXEȽ (Malahat), as well as the Sc'ianew (Beecher Bay), T’Sou-ke, and Pacheedaht Nations and the Spune’laxutth’ (Penelekut) tribe where our work extends. We are committed to acknowledging our relationship with these unceded lands and communities, at staff and Board meetings, and during our hosted events. We encourage the evolving learning and awareness of our staff, Board, and the Thrive community, discovering and striving for meaning and personal connection within each acknowledgement.
