Thrive

Foundry West Shore & Sooke

Opening 2026, a Foundry serving West Shore, Sooke & Port Renfrew will deliver integrated services for youth and young people aged 12-24 and their families.

Youth, Families, and diverse community stakeholders will be engaged in the dialogue to ensure that the services meet the needs of our communities. Services will include access to mental health and substance use supports, physical & sexual health care, employment and peer support. We will engage local Indigenous communities and Indigenous agencies to deliver culturally relevant programs that promote health and wellbeing.

A Youth Advisory Circle is central to ensuring youth voices are at the heart of planning and governance. A group of 10 youth will begin meeting monthly in September 2024 to provide input into every aspect of design and service planning. A skill building program is being developed that will include leadership, mentoring, and other training to expand the reach of the Youth Advisory and bring an even broader perspective to planning and implementation. Donations to this skill building program are appreciated. Please contact us for more information about this exciting new program.

How do you get into this program?

When open the centre will provide drop in and booked appointments. In the meantime: Young people aged 12-24 and their caregivers can access same day virtual services or schedule a virtual counselling appointment, find peer support, access primary care, get support with employment, access groups & workshops, or browse our library of tools and resources.

Our Thrive team acknowledges that our agency stands and works on the unceded Lək̓ʷəŋən territory of the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations. We also acknowledge the five W̱SÁNEĆ communities: W̱JOȽEȽP (Tsartlip), BOḰEĆEN (Pauquachin), SȾÁUTW̱,(Tsawout) W̱SIKEM (Tseycum) and MÁLEXEȽ (Malahat), as well as the Sc'ianew (Beecher Bay), T’Sou-ke, and Pacheedaht Nations and the Spune’laxutth’ (Penelekut) tribe where our work extends. We are committed to acknowledging our relationship with these unceded lands and communities, at staff and Board meetings, and during our hosted events. We encourage the evolving learning and awareness of our staff, Board, and the Thrive community, discovering and striving for meaning and personal connection within each acknowledgement.
